How can a person who is dead continue to stir trouble more than a year after his death? It's easy when you are a "big and bad Texas cowboy" who takes great pleasure in stealing from and threatening little girls and can claim to have produced such descendants such as Jill Jernigan / Campbell and Jim-Bob Jernigan who have now taken up the call to become "next in line" to heed the criminal calling of David Rushing and Rick Walden in yet another criminal plot. Thanks to Jill and Jim Bob's continuing harassing phone calls, this information is now publicized here for the entire world to see so, don't let the respectfully written obituary below fool you into thinking that Jerry Bob Jernigan was anything better than - in my own personal opinion - a crook whom I have personally observed in the act of stealing and terrorizing little girls while seeming to enjoy and derive great pleasure from every minute of his criminal actions.
Jerry Bob Jernigan, 64, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, in Amarillo.
Services were held in the Shamrock High School Auditorium with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors.
Jerry Bob Jernigan was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Wolfe City to Joe and Dorothy George Jernigan. He married Judy Bishop on July 9, 1976, in Childress. Jerry Bob graduated from Shamrock ISD in 1962. He had been Wheeler County Constable, Precinct 2, since 1974. He was an auctioneer, owned and operated Shamrock Livestock Sale for 10 years and had spent his life in the ranching business. He was a member of the Shamrock Rodeo Association, Shamrock E.D.B., West Texas Justices of the Peace & Constables Association, Texas Justices of the Peace & Constables Association, Texas Association of Counties, Panhandle Justices of the Peace & Constables Association and he was chairman of the Shamrock St. Patrick's Association in 1998. He was a member of the National Guard and Calvary Christian Fellowship.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Jernigan; four sons, Jim-Bob Jernigan of Henderson, and Clayton Jernigan, Tyler Jernigan and Drew Jernigan, all of Shamrock; a daughter, Jill Jernigan of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan of Shamrock; and a grandson, Clayton Shea Jernigan of Shamrock.
